We are Platinum Plus owners at this gorgeous oceanfront resort located on Cofresi Beach in Puerto Plata, on the north shore of the Dominican Republic. We found this resort quite by accident in 2007, when we exchanged our week in Cancun, but fell immediately in love with the property and the Dominican people! We purchased a vacation club membership here, and now can return as often as we like for a fraction of the price that we paid booking through RCI. What is really exciting is that we can also book reservations for friends, family, and other guests at our very low members-only pricing. General layout of the resort:
For starters, we think it would be most helpful for you to know the general layout of the resort. In essence, Lifestyles is set up much like a small village, with quaint streets and cul de sacs. It is really three resorts in one in terms of lodging choices. All of the resorts share the same restaurants, gift shops, spa, supermarket, clinic, excursion office, and beach. The 3 choices of accomodations include:
1. Lifestyle Tropical - these are traditional "hotel type" rooms right on the beach. Rooms have either 2 double beds or 1 king four-poster bed (these are called the Junior Suites). Many are oceanview, but some are garden or mountain view.
2. Lifestyle Crown Residence Suites - these are the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. They are set back a bit from the beach, nestled at the base of a mountain range. But never fear, the beach is only a short walk down nice sidewalks and beautiful paths (no busy roads or highways to navigate!)
3. Lifestyle Crown Villas and Spa - these are the crown jewels of the resort, the private estates! They range in size from 3 to 6 bedrooms, and feature private pools and breakfast chefs. Most are arranged on quiet little streets, in a neighborhood fashion, and are a leisurely stroll down to the beach.
